Cade Museum

Neighboring the Power District and anchoring Depot Park will be the Cade Museum of Innovation and Invention. The Cade is named for Dr. James Robert Cade, the physician, musician, researcher and inventor best known for leading the team of University of Florida researchers who created Gatorade.


The Cade Museum is to be the cornerstone of the newly revitalized Depot Park and, serving as a science and innovation center, will help turn a neglected brownfield into a learning and entertainment meeting place for the whole community.

The ambitious $25 million Cade Museum project will unfold in three phases:
Phase I - ($9 million) The first phase will include the construction of a 21,000 square foot building with core exhibits on the neuroscience of creativity, the Gatorade story and a space for creativity programs, lectures and other activities. 
Phase II - ($9 million) The next phase will see an expansion of the building to about 40,000 square feet, with additional exhibits on creativity as well as the American story of support for innovators and entrepreneurs.
Phase III - ($7 million) The final phase will enable the museum to expand its educational capacity and its ability to take the museum's exhibits and programs to under-served communities throughout Florida.
