How Bout A "Live Work Downtown" Incentive Program?

While the following article shows a glimmer of hope in the new housing market, keep in mind the investment possibilities that already exist in downtown Gainesville.

Streets lined with quaint bungalows, historic cottages and majestic oak trees are waiting to be redeveloped. Only a few minutes walk to restaurants, shops, businesses, Innovation Square, UF, Shands and the VA. No car necessary!

With the influx of jobs into the downtown corridor, wouldn't it behoove the employees of these companies to live, work and play in the same neighborhood? Companies, don't you want happy, more productive, employees? Business owners, commission members...how about implementing a Live Work Downtown incentive program for employees?

Redeveloping the downtown is the economic way to go. No long commutes, sitting in traffic, burning expensive gasoline, creating air pollution and wasting time. Be a part of Gainesville history and its innovative future.

That said, consider a move to the downtown. The Power District has houses just waiting for you!

With an increase in the number of new home sales in recent months, they say they are hopeful momentum continues to build to reverse the housing bust that was particularly hard on the new home segment."
