The Gainesville Sun newspaper article regarding statue defacement begs the question...What does this say about Gainesville's ranking as one of the "smartest cities"?
This is what is says. It appears there is no correlation between being "smart" and being respectful of others and their property, following rules because "rules apply to everyone else and you can't make me" and, most importantly, having and applying common sense. Seems quite simple and easy to abide by especially in a city populated by citizens of superior intelligence and "Mensa" level IQ's.
